J'ai qqs questions à poser à propos du wiki et surtout besoins de qqs informations.

J'ai mis un compteur sur la page d'accueil de mon wiki mais je ne suis pas tellement satisfaite, j'aurais préferer un compteur pour toutes les pages du wiki.

• y a-t-il cette possibilité sur xwiki ? je ne comprends pas trop le fonctionnement des stats sur xwiki.com.
• A quoi corresponds SPACE ET PAGES ?
• Y a t il d'autres stats disponibles ? j'aimerai bcp savoir le nbre de visiteur depuis le début.
• J'aimerai mettre un menu de présentation au centre, un peu comme sur la page de xwiki.com, quelle possibilité ?
• Comment faire pour modifier les couleurs, les interfaces … J'ai regardé dans plus d'action, xwikipréférences, thèmes mais je vois pas comment changer, ni quel autre choix je peux avoir.
• Est-ce possible de souligner du texte ?
• Peut-on mettre du son et de la video sur le wiki ?

Can someone please help? We're attempting to use XWiki as a knowledge base on an internal web. It's installed and seems to be working fine, however the {pre} tags get removed when we save an edit. The funny thing is this used to work. I'm not sure what changed.

Any suggestions? Is this the proper place to solicit help?

I wonder when xwiki can use external search engine (jakarta lucene). In my opinion, it should be the glue to so many available java modules just like using log4J.

Ivan, I don't have much to point to for the moment except the prices for the wiki hosting at XWiki.com. For a chess web site which should take up too much space, the 6$/month wiki would work well. If you want your own domain name, it would be 20$/month.

Concerning time to use XWiki or Wikis it will need a little time to get used to it but in the end what's really nice about it is the possibility to make very little changes very fast from anywhere. You show your web site to a friends, he tells you something is not clear, your can change it in front of him ! Most importantly if you want to bring people in to help you out it is much easier to do with XWiki than with HTML.

The Wiki is an interesting concept, which may work for a free Chess Website I am having difficulty maintaining in HTML.

Could you point me to articles where I can read about the technical concepts behind Wiki programming and hosting, as I would like to know how much of investment would be needed in terms of time - and later on, money - to do this.

No this web site is not going to disappear.. XWiki is a very serious project. Concerning the Wiki Farm, I plan to keep the free version as long as I can pay for the hosting platform and it's management with the advertisement revenues and the paying users. In any case the proposed prices for the hosted wikis are IMHO reasonnable.
