MacWrite and MacPaint were the first two applications written for the new Macintosh and were bundled with the original, 128K Mac, introduced in 1984. MacWrite was a basic text editor that introduced the idea of WYSIWYG editing to the public; it is the direct ancestor of modern word processors.
