Letter to the Student
I believe you will find the material covered in the module useful throughout the remainder of your college career and your life. Technology is constantly changing. Even while writing this module there have been several “upgrades” of the software we will cover. Such rapid changes leave us in one of three positions, rebellion, tolerance, or embraced. Those in rebellion resist the changes with all their energy, longing for the good old days. Those who tolerate the changes may use the technology but only as they must. Those who embrace the changes find their ability to adapt enhanced. They see the potential of the changes to solve problems and increase productivity.
Thinking creatively about how the current technology can enhance our lives and embrace the changes is a step-up from the mere tolerance of that technology. Although this module is largely pragmatic, you will be discussing, and hopefully, developing the ability to see possibilities Obviously, at least some of the material covered will be new to you. DON’T STRESS OUT. You will get through it. Enjoy the ride.
